Introduction

Every single country in this world has designed its own specific, unique flag that represents its people and the country. The respect and value given to this flag is a direct representation of the respect and love citizens have for their country. In every country, raising the flag along with the national anthem is a common ritual before important events.

As the fight to regain our rightful Tamil land from the enemy’s hand rages on, we have lost thousands upon thousands of martyrs who have sacrificed their lives to regain our land. It is in this land that our National leader has raised our National flag of Tamil Eelam where it flies freely.

Our flag has gained us a special place in the history of national flags because it is respected by the people and they have carried on the ritual of raising the flag with the national anthem at important ceremonies and events even before an official declaration of a country.
